New drug delivery systems for biomedical applications
Co-organised with ISS
Chairs: Giuseppina BOZZUTO - CV & Marisa COLONE - CVISS

Nanomedicine represents a key research field due to the growing use of nanoscale materials as carriers for the controlled transport and delivery of therapeutic or diagnostic agents to specific organ/tissue sites. New nanocarriers are continuously being designed and evaluated to overcome the problems associated with conventional chemotherapy (lack of specificity, low drug stability/bioavailability, systemic toxicity, drug-resistance occurrence). Numerous nanocarriers have improved the drug therapeutic efficacy in preclinical studies and, for some drugs, even in clinical trials.
The workshop “New drug delivery systems for biomedical applications” will focus on the design and use of innovative systems for smart delivery of bioactive molecules and inorganic compounds with potential anticancer activity with the aim of modifying their distribution and reducing their toxicity thus improving future therapeutic efficacy.

In Addition to the mandatory event registration on the official website at the LINK, partecipants are also invited to complete the participation form from this session at this other LINK
