This session brings together contributions from early-career researchers working on innovative materials for electrochemical applications, spanning energy storage and energy conversion. From degradation mechanisms in advanced cathode materials and interfacial engineering for lithium-metal anodes, to catalytic materials for reforming processes, the presented works illustrate how materials-level innovation — from synthesis and structural design to electrochemical characterization — underpins the development of next-generation batteries and related electrochemical technologies. The session opens with a keynote overview of advanced battery technologies, setting the context for the contributions that follow. |
