The increasing impacts of climate change require innovative approaches to improve the resilience, flexibility, and sustainability of power systems. This session will present the ongoing research activities and results carried out within the 2025–2027 Three-Year Implementation Plan of the Italian National Electric System Research Programme (Ricerca di Sistema Elettrico Nazionale). The discussion will focus on advanced power grid planning, climate-resilient network operation, predictive forecasting, optimization methodologies, Digital Twin technologies, and the integration of distributed energy resources, highlighting current challenges and future opportunities for the evolution of electrical networks. |
