CHross Lab (DSCTM-CNR) and Heritage-LAB (Sapienza) join forces in innovative and sustainable research for the safeguarding of cultural heritage 2/2
Co-organised with Sapienza University of Rome & CNR-DSCTM
Chair: Gabriella DI CARLO, CNR-ISMN & Stefano LEGNAIOLI, CNR-ICCOM
The CHross Lab of CNR-DSCTM has a long-standing and consolidated expertise in the development of advanced materials and technologies for the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage, including cleaning, protection, and consolidation treatments, as well as in the study of historical, artistic, and archaeological materials and their degradation processes. Its affiliated institutes host state-of-the-art laboratories dedicated to the investigation of artworks and cultural heritage, combining advanced analytical facilities with mobile and non-invasive instrumentation and decades of experience in the field.
This session focuses on emerging technologies and innovative methodologies for the in-depth investigation, knowledge, and valorisation of cultural heritage. Particular attention will be given to advanced diagnostic approaches capable of providing comprehensive insights into the composition, structure and degradation mechanisms of cultural heritage materials. The session will also explore the design and development of innovative, effective, and sustainable solutions for the long-term conservation of cultural heritage, fostering the integration of cutting-edge materials, analytical techniques, and multidisciplinary approaches.
